All is laid bare before the Father.ĭo you have God’s power in your daily life? Where there are no witnesses, the truth cannot be known (except by the Holy Spirit of course!). From life in the Old Testament to the New Testament, every truth must be established by two or three witnesses. Liars are condemned as they have no place with God. If someone is a false witness and lies to get someone killed, robbed, maimed, or hurt, that liar should have what the transgression done to him/her. The eye for the eye concept is for people who give false witness against others. 22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him and he shall pay as the judges determine. In Deuteronomy 19:15-18, we see the eye for an eye concept come up again. 21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. Those who take the innocent ife of God’s creation mankind (that’s men and women) do not respect God. Of course, we know that if someone takes another’s life, the biblical teaching is that they must give their own life (more on capital punishment here). The idea taught by many Judaeo-Christians is the punishment must fit the crime. The Bible has a commonly quoted phrase “eye for an eye” and “tooth for a tooth”. What Does The Bible Truly Mean By An Eye For An Eye, And A Tooth For A Tooth?
